How do I qualify as a commercial energy assessor?

Due to the range of commercial and public buildings, assessors will need to be appropriately qualified to assess buildings based on the buildings complexity and size at either VRQ Level 3 or 4. Various levels of training will be offered by Wensley & Lawz, in order to reflect this. Details are enclosed below, including a timetable of available courses in early 2008.

Modular Training Course

We have developed a flexible modular training course that is able to deliver specific training requirements on an individual basis.

Commencement of EPCs on transaction for commercial buildings

EPCs on commercial buildings will be rolled out from 6 April 2008 on buildings measuring over 10,000m2 and from 1 July 2008 on buildings measuring over 2,500 m2.

All other buildings, will be required to have an EPC on transaction from 1 October 2008.

Day 1 - Building Services - I (Level 3 & 4)

Day 2 - Advanced Building Services - I (Level 4 ONLY)

Days 3 & 4 - Simplified Building Energy Model SBEM I & II (Level 3 & 4)

Day 5 - Advanced SBEM III (Level 4 ONLY)
